When you hear the word diet what do you associate with it? Usually it is negativity; difficulty, restriction, punishment, etc. However, eating foods that are good for you should not be thought of as a form of punishment. Choosing to consume healthy foods correlates to respecting yourself enough to give your body what it needs to thrive. We give ourselves the finest clothes, we have the desire to drive the finest cars and to live in beautiful, comfortable homes in the best neighborhoods. Yet, when it comes to our physical bodies, we show neglect and disrespect for ourselves. We fill our bodies with fast food laced with preservatives and chemicals. We consume insurmountable amounts of sugar, which is known to be highly addictive and leads to the destruction of hormone function (insulin resistance) and causes type 2 diabetes. High fat foods from animals fed with growth hormones are eaten on a daily basis. We know that certain foods contain carcinogenic additives, yet we eat them anyway because they “taste good” or were on sale (Don't you ever wonder how fast food places can sell you a burger, chicken nuggets, fries soda AND a cookie for only $5?? - suspect). Remember the saying, just because it looks good it doesn’t mean it’s good for us! The food we eat has a direct correlation to how efficiently our bodies function and maintains itself. Give your body to fuel it needs to do the best job! Give yourself the respect to care about the foods that enter your body. Many ailments, pains and suffering can be alleviated by giving yourself the respect you deserve by eating healthier. Americans spend billions of dollars on products and services to counteract the effects of our poor choices. We have liposuction, cosmetic surgeries and buy waist trainers. Billions are spent through the healthcare system on hospitalizations, medications and procedures for health conditions that could have been prevented through a better diet. The nutrients given to us in nature are pure and delicious. They hold the properties that scientist have tried to recreate in laboratories. Go straight to the source! Eat organic fruits and vegetables, pay attention to where your meat comes from. Use all natural products with essential oils. Start to care about what you allow to enter your body and travel to your organs and in your blood stream. You deserve that self-respect!
